Answer a few questions to see how you stand against each requirement for Finnish citizenship — and the earliest date you could qualify. Everything is calculated in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
Finnish citizenship has several requirements: enough time living in Finland (8 years, or 5 with sufficient Finnish or Swedish skills), proof of language skills, a stable income, a clean record, an established identity, and — from 2027 — a citizenship test, unless you are exempt through a Finnish or Swedish degree or matriculation exam. This tool checks your answers against those criteria and estimates the earliest date you could qualify based on your time of residence.
